Tools for Managing Documents
While most of the learning materials in the courses are within the course site, on the Hub there may be documents uploaded for resources. There are options in Microsoft Office and Adobe to support using their files.
Microsoft
- You can add an Accessibility menu, use a Narrator, change the screen contrast, size, and font.
- The Immersive Reader tool allows to adjust the appearance of the document (text spacing, color), to use Line Focus to read one line at a time, and to have the content Read Aloud to you.
- There are numerous keyboard shortcuts to various functions.
- They have a Microsoft Disability Answer Desk for technical assistance.
Adobe Acrobat
- Acrobat allows you to change the appearance of the document for readability, keyboard shortcuts.
- It can also Read Aloud the document to you.
- It has an Accessibility Setup Assistant that enables many of the features to support reading.
- It supports using a screen reader with extensive documentation.
